Trump’s National Security Advisor Warns Canada Against Huawei Involvement in 5G Network

The US President Donald Trump’s national security advisor Robert O’Brien has warned Canada against the involvement of Chinese company Huawei in its 5G network. Robert has called it Trojan Horse that can steal data from the users. The senator has also suggested Canada to ask for the release of two Canadians arrested by China.

According to Robert, the participation of Huawei in Canada and other Western countries can let the company know health records, every social media post and banking records of the users.

Robert has also said that the company can also know the personal information of the people living in Canada and the country should understand the issue of people’s sensitive data. It is now clear so far that whether Canada is going to include Huawei in its 5G network or not, it has become an international issue. There are many countries including The United States, Australia, and Japan who have already refused the company to participate in their 5G networks. These countries have considered that Huawei is influenced by the Government of China but the company has rejected this allegation.

UK has also refused to use Huawei’s product in its central part of the communication while Germany has completely debarred the company’s presence in the country. Only Russia has signed a deal with Huawei. Ralph Goodale is the former Public Safety Minister in Canada. He once said in an interview that Huawei’s involvement in the Canadian 5G network would be decided after the 2019 Federal election.

Trade relations between China and Canada have become bad after Canada arrested Huawei’s chief financial officer in December 2019. To retaliate against the arrest, China arrested two Canadians in espionage charges.
