He has even worked beyond his limits to improve the New Mexico Tattoo regulation. For this, Ben Shaw hired Sen. Jacob Candelaria for drafting the Senate Bill 275 to establish the Board of Body Arts Practitioners.
With his intense efforts, Sen. Bill 275 got passed and it helped to free the tattooing industry from the control of the Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists. He is now the head of the Body Art Practitioners Board in New Mexico.
