Muckleshoot Casino expansion project reaches milestone

The Muckleshoot Casino expansion project reached a construction milestone on Friday.

Workers placed the final structural beam, a piece to the foundation of a major upgrade and expansion effort at the large casino, 2402 Auburn Way S.

Representatives of the Muckleshoot Tribal Council, including Tribal Chair Jaison Elkins and Muckleshoot Tribal members had the opportunity to sign the beam to mark the historic occasion.

The casino upgrade will include an event center, expanded gaming, more dining and eventually, the opening of a 400-room luxury hotel.

Since opening in 1995 in a 13,000-square-foot tent, the casino has undergone a number of successful expansion and improvement projects. The latest expansion is scheduled to be complete in early 2021 and will include:

• Luxury hotel resort tower to stand 18 stories tall and will feature 400 rooms, an indoor pool, spa, and rooftop dining.

• A 20,000-square-foot technologically advanced event and conference center.

• Three new fast-casual dining destinations and a dynamic Center Bar.

• Cultural Gallery that celebrates the history and journey of the Muckleshoot Tribe.

Owned and operated by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, revenue from Muckleshoot Casino supports an array of important programs and services for tribal members such as elder services, education, health care, housing assistance and employment opportunities.
