Six arrests in drug-related operation in Nottingham city centre

The latest run for targeting the drug-related activities in the City Centre at Nottingham led to the arrest of 6 people. Apart from these 6 arrests, 4 people had been reported for the summons while one was issued the cannabis warning.

This latest Operation Guardian round conducted on 9th August, Friday was led by the Nottinghamshire Police which ran as long as the early half of 10th August on Saturday. This was a section of the combined initiative which was organized with help from the Nottingham Crime & Drugs Partnership, the Nottingham BID (Business Improvement District), Nottingham City Council, as well as the providers for drug treatment.

Sergeant Graham Whitt with the Neighbourhood Policing Team mentioned that this operation mostly uses the proactive tactics for policing. He further added that Operation Guardian run is something that is organized by the police on a regular basis and targets the ones that are intended on drug consumption, drug dealing, as well as committing antisocial or violent acts.

The items seized during this operation course included 5 cocaine, 3 cannabis, 2 mamba, 1 lock knife, and 1 amphetamine. Apart from that, 6 people had also been arrested under suspicion of multiple offences which include burglary, robbery, and community sentence breach.
