Ed Reed: Reaching greatness depends on company you keep, attitude

Ed Reed showed up with his trademark sunglasses, hat and a cigar in hand in Pro Football Hall of Fame stage. He took all the attention of the crowd away with 36 minutes long speech. Reed, who has successfully played 11 out of 12 seasons along with the Ravens, stated that he had come with the speech, which he is currently delivering, while he was waiting for his turn to speak through four other speeches.

He mentioned the name of his barbers as well. But, in the end, said that he knew he probably has skipped forgotten a lot of people. The victims of the shooting that commenced on July 28th in El Paso were also remembered in the speech delivered by Reed.

He said that mental illness is one of the biggest issues that are prevailing in today’s world. Reed said to the audience that he grew up in a neighborhood infested by crime, which made him mature a lot sooner than usual.

He through his speech motivated the crowd and asked all of them to encourage everyone else they know. He concluded his speech saying that he has never compared himself with any other player and would never start to do that, anyway.
