Ex-presidential candidate Hickenlooper to run for U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON  – Former Colorado governor John Hickenlooper, who dropped out of the 2020 Democratic presidential race final week, stated on Thursday he’ll run for a U.S. Senate seat within the state as an alternative.

Hickenlooper, 67, stays standard in Colorado and has been urged by quite a few Democrats, together with Senate Minority Chief Chuck Schumer, to problem incumbent Republican Cory Gardner for his Senate seat.

“I’m working to present Colorado’s priorities and values a voice in Washington,” Hickenlooper stated in an announcement on his web site.

“Proper now we’re represented by a senator who works to undo our progress by voting 99% of the time with Donald Trump and going together with (Senate Majority Chief) Mitch McConnell’s obstruction and partisan political video games.”
