NASCAR cited three groups within the Monster Vitality NASCAR Cup Collection for lug-nut violations after final weekend’s motion at Bristol Motor Speedway. These groups have been the No. 2 Crew Penske Ford of Brad Keselowski, the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of Chase Elliott and the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford of Clint Bowyer.
Every crew chief was fined $10,000 — Paul Wolfe (the No. 2), Alan Gustafson (for the No. 9) and Michael Bugarewicz (No. 14). Keselowski completed third within the Bristol Evening Race, whereas Elliott was fifth and Bowyer was seventh.
Regardless of the seventh-place end, Bowyer is now outdoors of the playoff cutline, two factors behind Daniel Suarez, who’s the final driver within the playoffs.
